What we do
REACH is a non-profit organization that serves the community, providing assistance and outreach to residents in need. The mission of REACH is to accompany individuals in vulnerable situations toward greater stability and independence. REACH provides a safe and trusted way to assist people with access to critical resources and referrals to local agencies. An essential tenet of our organization is meeting the homeless where they live and providing realistic solutions that best suit our clients and their needs as well as their strengths and the barriers they face.
For those experiencing homelessness in Deschutes County, assistance may include delivery of mail, medical and health services, transportation support, employment placement, and essential items such as sleeping bags and tents. In collaboration with community partners, our mobile case management and outreach focus on building trusting relationships in a compassionate and personalized supportive environment.
REACH proposes to provide services to this population in several separate categories via Street Outreach. This is a type of service REACH regularly provides to the Literally Homeless population. REACH will provide engagement services to locate, identify and build relationships with unsheltered homeless people to offer immediate support, intervention and connections with assistance programs and/or mainstream social services or housing programs. An initial assessment of applicant needs and eligibility will be conducted. Urgent physical needs will be addressed, such as providing meals, blankets, sleeping bags, tents, winter jackets and boots, other clothing and/or toiletries. Referrals will be made for necessary medical, mental health or other necessary services. Cell phones and solar charges may be provided if necessary.
