COMPASSION
Our commitment is to help people move towards stable and independent living through building relationships and connecting them to resources to support them in moving towards greater independence and self-sufficiency.
What we do
REACH is a non-profit organization that serves the community, providing assistance and outreach to residents in need. For those experiencing homelessness in the City of Bend, REACH provides a safe and trusted way to assist people with access to critical resources and referrals to local agencies which may include delivery of mail, medical and health services, transportation support, employment placement, and items such as sleeping bags and tents..
Services
The REACH Outreach and Case Management program is
A partnership among businesses, community members, social service agencies and faith communities to serve those experiencing homelessness, and centered around relationship, compassion, and collaboration.
Providing personalized, low barrier supportive services to a widely diverse population of seniors, families, children, veterans, single adults, and LGBTQ people who are experiencing homelessness and life challenges.
Coordinating and collaborating with community partners to connect Bend’s most vulnerable to necessary services and meeting the basic needs of the homeless community
Meeting the homeless wherever they live
The REACH case management approach is based on meeting the needs of the community in a mobile setting, with the ability to assist people living in cars, outside, shelters, tents, storage units, in the doorways of local businesses or on BLM land. REACH brings services and solutions directly to those in need, therefore reducing the barriers of access due to where people are living. This outreach is a proven model that substantially improves the outcomes of this vulnerable population.
Making the program accessible
The trust and safety of the program allows us to educate, advocate and better understand not only the impact trauma has had on our client but helps us to refer them to services that can provide trauma-informed services to better health, better care and lower costs which has a positive impact on our community .
Providing realistic solutions
When working with people in a constant state of crisis, we find we need to work in “real time” with solutions that are realistic. Using evidence and data to achieve the greatest impact while adapting our strategies to best fit our clients, their strengths, barriers and situations.

Donations to REACH are being used to provide essential needs to those experiencing homelessness during the COVID-19 crisis. With the closure of congregant meal programs, financial assistance programs and many social service agencies we are finding an increase in the need for hygiene items, dog food, feminine hygiene items, socks, underwear, diapers, laundry vouchers, formula, bus passes and medical co-pays.
In addition to these needs, our only Emergency Shelter closed on April 17, 202 so there is an increase in our most vulnerable community members that will have to resort to living on the streets, in the woods and in their vehicles. No new intakes are being done by shelter programs in our area; this is resulting in a increased need for tents, sleeping bags, blankets and gas cards.
We thank you for your donation; your assistance will be used to provide the many people in our community experiencing homelessness. REACH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Federal Tax ID 84-3965548. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. If you have additional questions please contact Executive Director Stacey Witte (provide email link here and phone if available).
